Radiometer RADON-3

Radiometer RADON-3      Radiometer RADON-3 with sensor open

Small device to alert of radiation

The αβγ-radiometer RADON-3 is an easily portable device for measuring a total α-, β- and γ-radiation or only γ-radiation. RADON-3 is a good companion when roaming in areas and buildings having possible radiation threat. It notifies the user about radioactivity danger and can thereby help to save health. The device detects effectively small radiation sources and gaseous radon e.g. in basements. RADON-3 is handy to carry along and due to its long-lasting battery it can always be switched on to alert the user on time.

Radiation level is clearly notified

The LCD screen shows either the dose rate or the detector pulse frequency. The device displays the current radiation level, which is the average of measuring results in last minutes or during a longer time. The user can see the latter when choosing precise mode. In addition, sound signal can be switched on to notify the user about the current radiation level. According to the signal frequency, radiation rate can be evaluated. An audio alarm starts if γ-radiation dose rate will exceed 10 μSv/h, whereas the alarm point is adjustable.

Different radiation types can be measured

RADON-3 defines the different radiation types by means of a filter on the top side of the panel. If the detector is closed with the filter, only γ-radiation will be measured. If the filter is pushed aside, the device will detect the total α-, β- and γ-radiation. For α- and β-radiation, it has the direction-dependent characteristics, which enables to locate small α- and β-radiation sources more precisely.

Easily usable with only one button

The pushbutton on the front panel enables to choose following display- and measuring modes:
1. Measuring result is given in dose rate units (μSv/h).
2. Measuring result is given in pulse frequency (CPM).
3. Toggle the buzzer on/off.
4. Toggle the precise measuring mode on/off
